It looked like the owner left it at a rookie shop for an oil change and the shop for some reason started it with low or no oil.
I think most E-haters don't realize that ethanol is just another octane booster. When you buy the E-free it's usually a premium grade with any number of boosters that can be used, (MTBE), (ETBE), and (TAME).
Cause God hates the Lez- buns?
I had a jdm 1994 impreza wrx and yes the head gasket did blow but it was old and had no service history but it was worth every penny for the amazing performance
Shortys will make you lose power: long will give you power on high end. That’s it
How much do those shifter carts cost?
Were can i bay n crank like that

This makes me want to swap an FA24 in my WRX hatchback 🤔… but then DIT pump, standalone, harness merge, try to pass emissions.. it could get complicated
I trust this guy more than god 🤙🏼
Mike, witch motor is better to rev. 11k this one or the 20v? Thanks!
Really neither, my opinion useless to rev past 10k
We need a video of this engine running. This is a simple formula. Waiting for video. NASIOC has been quiet. RUclips is keeping me entertained.
It's coming.
How much cost build a engine like this?
about 16k, 20 to do it right!
I wonder what it took to get this guy on camera. Seems like he isn't all that comfortable. I am happy you convinced him somehow bc he clearly knows enough that we should be listening to him. Thanks for the info on race gas. I use it thinking I may be protecting my engine from knock, and it sounds like that guess is right. I even use the 108 octane variety out of a big can and I don't care if it does make my sparkplugs orange after enough use. Better that than blowing my tuned turbo engine.
Need help to build a 06 WRX Wagon GGA with EJ255, stay in the Bay Area . Where are you located? Got an average budget and just looking for 300-350hp to the wheels ? Also need to replace most or all of my suspension? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Please and Thank You 🙏

Nissan
Do you have a part number for it
9:03 | "I'm not sure who the tuner was, I'm not speaking badly of them, but, ya know, blowin' up a lot of motors isn't normal!" -Mike
All I want is a built bottom and top end that'll handle ~375whp reliably for years to come. Is that unreasonable?
No not at all.
Us "old timers" needed back pressure to eliminate valve float at hight RPMs on the highway. Once we started making our own headers we added washers under the valve springs, then two springs on the valve stems. Modern engines have eliminated the need. It was about making our own tech that engineers designed into modern engines. Please stop throwing us old guy under the bus we did what we did because we wanted to and you 'kids' benefitted. You're welcome.
Adding back pressure to stop valve float is a myth in itself and totally not true. Adding washers under the spring doesnt not increase spring rate, just initial preload and reduces coil bind height and adds to spring stress. None of that is good at all. More old wives tales.
went drifting in japan with a guy in an 86, fully forged, running carbs, full race spec, sounded and pulled like shit till 4k rpm, sounded like it was missing and jumping, then 4k hit and she took off like a bat outta hell
What’s getting done to the Corolla next to you?
Fully built 2TG
@@motoiqboosted or all-motor with ITB? I wanna see videos of that car and engine build in the future.
I have a off topic question regarding my clutch slippage.. I’ve just recently replaced the clutch kit on my Honda accord with a j35 6speed swap. I bought the Spec 3+ kit from SPEC. The flywheel is a lightweight ACT and has been on the engine. For the first week it drove fine but now it’s slipping bad. I’ve replaced clutch slave and clutch master but nothing helps. I’ve adjusted the pedal numerous times and even added spacers between firewall and clutch pedal assembly. Help please? Will mismatch brand flywheel and disc cause this?
All motor
Yes, some flywheels have a step in them for a particlar clutch.
Hey the 97-99 4th Gen Maxima in the back. My first car and probably the best Maxima made from Nissan that looked better than anything infiniti had made at the time.
Are you located in Sydney ? And if so can you help me build my 101 silvertop
No the USA. MRP in new zealand is a top builder that we get parts from.
Is this for the fa20 or fa24? Or does the built work on both ?
Both
Extrude honed😂
Thank you for the good info! I like the 230/250 rule with engine temp and oil temp. I usually get to 222/246 on track and feel like the car is near it's limit instinctually, but now I have some information to back that up.
Yea first get a loan from a bank buy a machine shop. With a million dollars of equipment. Then hire five top machines. An maybe you can get one to run, for two miles.
If you watched the video and paid attention you would learn that that is not true.
street car.. i always remove my Catalytic converters ( not only due to all the Cat thefts , (try to steal my cat, all you get is a Straight pipe or resonator (glasspack) for more power and torque, i rive a wimmpy Honda 2002 Civic With a POS D17A2 5 speed VTEC (2 lobe econ Vtec ) i want to do the D16Z6/y8 3 lobe VTEC cam swap, but i need the D16 & D17 Adjustable cam gears so i can swap the D16 inner part (to fit D16 cams) with the D17s cam gear for the Sensor with the D17's Cam and the D17 cam gear wont fit the D16 Cams shaft ( WHY DID U DO THIS TO ME HONDA! DAMN) lol
Would love to see what they could develop for the VW Porsche Aircooled world.
u need proper scavenging/// its coming since.. an engine ais juat a pump... air in ... *intake) and air out (Exhaust) its all common sence lol
Once upon a time there was a guy on the east coast named Marc Donohue who was educated as an engineer and went on to become a legend in professional racing despite bumbling his way through the technical development aspects by trial and error, lots of hard work, and learning little lessons from elders and colleagues. His memoirs are written in a straightforward way without jargon or formulas. Remind you of anyone? Mike Kojima, this video's presenter, strikes me as the kind of old wolf you'd want to follow if you want to learn the fundamentals, the old ways, and how to run at the front of the pack. We're a lucky audience.
Nice car, unfortunately waaay overpriced at the moment
Hey man your cool thanks for that
I could listen to him all day i love his character and he knows so much 👍✌️
Interested in all of these products, when do they start selling?
The engine parts and turbo are available.

High 10s… that’s god speed for a kart.
Bull...... old vs new.......
Both old, the shiny piston had 2 seasons of Formula Drift brutal use.
Cheap and VERY competitive racing. Really demands good weight transfer management too
I have a 97 Nissan D21 with a KA24E, absolutely love the motor!! Follow basic maintenance and it’ll last forever
Thank you. Finally someone smart on RUclips
3SGTE ftw its taken some solid track time with no issues. Bought an oil cooler but still haven't installed it

What fender flares do you have on ?

Is it feasible to fabricate and equip long tube collector extension on short tube headers. Would there be any benefits to doing this as a possible compromise
it is but you might as well get long tubes by then
The reason I asked is in situations where space is very tight for the long tube headers, I was thinking to use the short Tube Headers because they'd be much easier to fit and with the extension on will have the same benefit maybe as the long tube headers.
Adding Long Tube Headers with motor installed is in some cases very tight and awkward and in some cases not possible so shorty's with extension seems like a better option for much easier installation. Just really thinking out loud as long as there's no significant performance loss
Yeah well I ain't got no money for a special tool Im using only once. I built my motor once and torqued the bolts to recommended nm. It's holding still. But ofc it's nice to do everything correctly as intended.
Your back side NISSA GTR ❤
That ZX in the back
Why you don't run that thing with a straight pipe if backpresure isn't needed? Pulses are mainly backpressure, if you measure the average pressure in the expansion pipe, it's pressurized. Pulse wave reflections are simply a way to boost the engine since reeds (or piston skirt/rotary valve geometry) blocks the backflow of the air/fuel mixture coming from the exhaust when the pressure wave returns to the cylinder.
The average flow is not pressurized, it is in vacuum with every cycle. The reed valve, etc does not block the exhaust, it prevents back flow into the intake.
